School Council

Welcome to the School Council Page!

We have two school councils, one for years 1-3 and another for years 4-6. Each class is represented by two children from that class at the weekly meetings. Find out a little bit more below about some of their recent activities and discussions...

Years 1-3
The infant school council consists of pupils from years 1 to 3. The juniors encourage them to think of new ideas to improve their section of the school. Currently they are thinking about how they can change their playground-just as we have done on the junior yard. So far, they have got new playing equipment such as; Rackets Balls, Sling rackets, Stilts, Bounce boards and Skipping ropes.
Further meetings have been arranged with both the junior and the infant School Council to discuss a perfecting system and young leaders rota. (We now meet every month to talk about the latest updates and ideas for our school.)

Years 4-6
Our Aim:

In Rhiwbina Primary School Council we bring ideas from our classes and attempt to make them a reality. We discuss our ideas and how we can make them happen. Everyone in our School Council promises to listen to the children's ideas and take them seriously.

We will represent your ideas in our School council meetings.

We will use your ideas to help improve our school and make it a better place.

Introduction:

Our junior Rhiwbina Primary School Council is lead by Mr. Thomas and Mr Hurrell every Wednesday in the Blue I.T suite.

The council consists of pupils from Year 4-6

Our History:

Over the past few years our School Council have been responsible for setting up a variety of initiatives which have helped our school to run more effectively and efficiently. This is something we are very proud of! These are some of them:
SETTING UP THE PEER MEDIATION. (now run by Miss.Pearce)
PREFECTING TO MAKE OUR SCHOOL SAFER AT BREAKTIME. (now run by Mrs. Davies)
IMPROVED PLAYGROUND FACILITIES eg. CLIMBING WALL, HEALTHY SNACK BAR, ADVENTURE Trail…

Bins:

Also new bins have been put on the yard to make it more convenient and to reduce the likeliness of littering.

We are always on the lookout for people that can be involved in our litter squad, and help tidy up our playground.
