Developing an understanding of pulse/tempo through a singing activity.

Click on the link for the 'I am a Superhero' song on Youtube. Ask your child to listen to the song. Play it again and ask them to start learning the song by singing along.   Can they put some actions into each verse and march along to the music as they sing?

  1. Reach down to put each boot on.
  2. Whip their magic cloak around their shoulders.
  3. Put their special glasses on-what can they see? 
  4. Pull on each glove.
  5. Climb into their pjs, how do they feel after being a Superhero for a day?

Ask them if they are marching at a fast, slow or medium pace? (medium)

So we can say that this song has a medium tempo.
