Humanities Tasks Week 5

My Dream Home

Last week you thought about your own home, now it’s time to think about your dream home! 
What would your dream home look like?
Will it look like a castle? Will it look like a lighthouse?
Where will you dream home be?
What will it be made from? How many windows will it have?
Will it be an eco-house?
Will your house have solar panels and an allotment?
How much will your house cost?

 

Challenge: Can you add measurements to your design? How many meters tall and wide will it be?

Watch the video and look at the pictures below to give you some ideas before designing and building your dream home. You could ask your family what and where their dream home would be and present your results in a graph using 2count, 2Graph or JIT Chart. Don’t forget to send us photos or use JIT MIX to present your house with text and pictures.  You could use Purple Mash 2Do to write about your dream home or to create a 3D model. You may even want use Lego or junk modelling.

What is Ramadan?

Ramadan is a month-long period of fasting, prayer, and spiritual reflection. It is one of the biggest religious events on the planet.

During Ramadan, followers of Islam are forbidden from eating or drinking during daylight hours. Even water is considered off-limits. Muslims cleanse their souls and strengthen their connection to God. 

When is Ramadan?

Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar. This year, it begins on the evening of Thursday, 23rd April and ends at dusk on Saturday, 23rd May.
