What the Farmer Heard!

In this week's story, What the Ladybird Heard, we heard lots of different animal noises! Farms can be very noisy places.

Watch this video of the author of  'What the Ladybird Heard', Julia Donaldson and her husband Malcolm performing a very special song all about the story. Can you join in with the animal sounds and help the ladybird save the prize cow? Pob Lwc!

The What the Ladybird Heard Song

Farmyard Music 2Do

Making music can be lots of fun. Log into your Purple Mash account to access your 'Farmyard Music' 2Do.

Can you use the different animal sounds to create your own farmyard music? Drag the animals onto the farmyard scene, then experiment by adding and deleting animals or by rearrange the order of the animals. Tempo is the speed at which a piece of music is played. Use the speed control in the bottom right hand corner of the farmyard scene to listen to your music being played at different speeds.

When you have completed your 2Do don't forget to 'hand in' your work and add a message. We can't wait to hear your farmyard composition. Happy music making!

Here are some other lovely songs for you to enjoy.  Can you join in with making the animal noises? Can you make up animal movement dances to any of the songs?  Can you clap along with the tune?  If you have any percussion instruments (e.g. shakers, bells) then play them along with the beat. Alternatively get lots of pots and pans out and make your own noisy drum kit to accompany the songs!

We hope you have lots of fun singing and making farm music!
