It has been a short week for the children this week. We have, however, continued to learn all about life in a castle and had lots of fun doing it!
We made castle towers and measured them.
As requested we opened our castle vegetable shop!
We went shopping for healthy food.
It was tricky adding up the prices.
We packed our groceries in brown bags ready to take home.
Cutting and assembling knights.
We had to follow the key to colour these castles correctly.
Outdoor building!
We had to follow the outline of the castle.
Look how amazing it looks!
Using cardboard rolls to design our own turrets.
We had to be really careful with the scissors to cut out the shapes we needed.
Our class numberline.
We found the next number and added it to see it grow.
Into the teens!
We talked about different flags...
and had a go at copying them with the pegs.
We worked as a team forming towers to 20.
There was a lot of counting.
What a TEAM!
Number formation practice with our quills.
Our numbers need to be the right way.
We looked at the flags of the uk
And made them with pegs.
We worked so hard.
Practising our tricky words.
We used them to make sentences.
We tried to write them by ourselves without looking.
We finished off different patterns
Creating crowns was good fun.
We used lots of different resources.
Using our cutting skills...
We made puppets...
To used in our small world.
It was so much fun.
Our new castle role play is very popular.
Do you like our out door castle we made?
Our colour magical castle.
R1 are rapidly acquiring new skills. Our children acquire these skills at different rates and are encouraged to develop at their own unique, individual pace. We are developing a sense of our own identity and have increasing capacities for language and enquiry. Our topic is giving opportunities for us to develop a wide range of experiences both to support our emotional, social, intellectual and physical development, and to help us make sense of their own immediate world and the wider world around us.
Higher or Lower!? We played the classic TV game too!
Forte and Piano are musical terms, we used these to compose music
Castle role play, which is full of our ideas.
Eid is such a special time, we learn so much from one another in school.
Number formation is hard, why not try some at home?!
We are friends and we support one another
